As a Commodity Manager, you take the lead in building and running strong procurement strategies. The focus is on creating value through cost savings, reliable supply, and close cooperation with both suppliers and internal teams. The role combines strategy, teamwork, and hands-on execution to create real business impact and requires someone who enjoys variety and ownership. You will report to the VP of Global Supply Chain.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and run smart procurement and sourcing strategies
- Select, manage, and negotiate with suppliers and partners
- Drive cost savings and improve supply chain performance
- Work closely with finance, sales, quality, and logistics teams
- Follow market trends and share insights with stakeholders
- Lead, coach, and support a small team of buyers
- Improve systems, processes, and ways of working

- A gross monthly salary between 4700,- and 5500,- based on experience

They operate in more than 15 countries and have over 65 locations worldwide, enabling them to serve their customers quickly, reliably and comprehensively wherever they are. They take care of all planning and coordination and guarantee high quality standards at every location. They employ over 3,000 staff worldwide.
From their Helmond site, they serve customers across Europe with safe, efficient and bespoke packaging and logistics solutions. For customers in the high-tech and innovation sectors, this site offers a complete package of services: from crate construction, packaging and logistics to design, corrugated cardboard solutions, foam and storage. Around 25 people currently work in Helmond.
Wat vragen wij?
They are looking for someone who brings experience, confidence, and a hands-on attitude.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles
- Strong skills in strategic sourcing and category management
- Confidence in negotiating and building long-term supplier relationships
- Experience leading, coaching, or supporting others in a team
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- You work primarily in Helmond and are willingness to travel regionally and internationally(5%)
