R&D Manager

What are your main responsibilities?
As a R&D Manager, you’ll be leading around 10 R&D Engineers and staff of the Laboratory. Tasks you have as a manager are:
- Establish in collaboration with the CTO and your peers within the Innovation & Technology group our technology roadmap.
- Successfully drive and realize the R&D roadmap, including coordination of R&D programs and projects, in close coordination with the Product Marketing, Quality and Process Engineering departments group.
- Participate in, set up and manage (international) development programmes, often in collaboration with research institutions and universities.
- Oversee the analytical laboratory in Helmond, set appropriate targets, KPI’s and service metrics.
- Management of standard personnel topics, such as conducting performance & appraisal interviews of the teams, work planning, development, promotions, recruitment, etc.
What are your skills?
To be considered for this position we ask that you:
- Have at least a Master degree or PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or related field.
- Have sound experience in a managerial or project leading position within a high tech R&D environment.
- Be a natural leader and team builder; can keep an overview in a complex environment; are enthusiastic and know how to win stakeholders for R&D programs.
- Possess innovation as part of your DNA as you drive towards development, whereby new and original ideas are identified, generated, and implemented.
- Be customer-oriented; think along with internal and external customers in the interests of the long-term strategy of the company.
- Be analytical, think in processes, clarify challenges, and be solution-oriented.
- Be decisive, steadfast, yet flexible.
- Have a good command of the English language (written and spoken) (Dutch is not mandatory but appreciated).
- Your home base will be at our Helmond site.
